Common Core Math Standards
The Common Core State Standards provide a clear and consistent understanding of what math students are expected to learn. They are designed to be challenging and relevant to real world situations relating to the knowledge and skills that our students need for success in college and careers. The goal of CCSS is to prepare students for the future and to become a successful contributor to the world. The Standards describe what students should understand and be able to do in their study mathematical concepts. A student who can explain a rule understands the mathematics. Procedural skills and mathematical understanding are of equal importance. These math standards and progression develop the skills and depth of understanding through rich mathematical tasks and teacher assessment.
